“While my specialty is litigation, often the greatest value that I provide to my clients is advising them on how to stay out of court.”

Practical, concise, and principled form the core tenets of Michael’s legal philosophy. He focuses on all aspects of HOA law and construction-related litigation while advising clients on the most cost-efficient and effective solutions to help mitigate legal costs and avoid unnecessary complications. Michael’s professional and measured approach concerning complex matters has seen him secure favorable outcomes in several of the most significant residential construction defect cases in Oregon history, recovering millions of dollars for his clients. He also has experience assisting homeowner associations and drafting, amending, and enforcing their governing documents.

Driven by a personal mantra, “I would rather respond in a three-sentence email that gets to the point than write a ten-page letter. I don’t charge for fluff,” Michael makes it a point not to waste his client’s time by providing precise and necessary information. His responsiveness and straightforward mentality help establish a trusted and reliable relationship with clients that achieves desired results.

Michael is a member of the Oregon Washington Community Association Managers (OWCAM) Education and Certification Committee and is a frequent speaker at educational events for HOA boards of directors, community managers, and homeowners. Additionally, he is a member of the Oregon State Bar Real Estate and Land Use Section and the Oregon State Bar Construction Law Section.

Away from the office, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife, three sons, and multiple dogs. He enjoys working on home remodeling projects and various outdoor activities.
