Condominium, HOA and Real Estate Law, Construction Defect Litigation, Enforcement, Disputes, Insurance Coverage, Real Estate
“My work with clients emphasizes the significance of identifying and solving problems impacting homeowner and condo associations. I provide a wide array of services concerning best practices to avoid unnecessary legal costs, litigation if necessary, and address large, underfunded, deferred maintenance issues that could become problematic in the future.”
Professionalism, relatability, and affability define Jason’s legal methodology. As a Partner at VF-Law, he chairs the firm’s Community Association Practice Group. He represents homeowner and condo associations concerning HOA law, construction defect litigation, real estate law, architectural rule review, governance issues, document interpretation, disputes, enforcement, and insurance coverage. Jason views construction defects as an area in HOA law that can result in significant consequences when mismanaged; he emphasizes the need for more attention and education in this area to promote safety and knowledge. He consistently advises clients on the importance of avoiding building infrastructure issues by advocating for large, underfunded, deferred maintenance projects that improve building safety and resident satisfaction and avoid catastrophic building failures. Additionally, Jason enjoys educating homeowners and condo associations on all things related to HOA law and construction defect litigation through CAI classes.
Jason has been with the firm since 2003 and developed his practice through exceptional relationship building, honest legal advice, and a good-natured spirit that enables him to connect with clients. His friendly demeanor and sense of humor help break down contentious meetings and negotiations where he strives to find common ground between opposing parties. Anchored by his grandmother’s advice, “When they go low, you go high,” Jason emphasizes treating every person he interacts with, whether a client or opposing counsel, with dignity and respect to maintain cordial and professional communication.
When Jason is out of the office, he enjoys traveling, skiing, snowboarding, scuba diving, and spending time with his wife and daughter. Before law school, he worked on an archaeological excavation in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
